Revolutionary Patented Waterproofing Product Ends Basement Leaks

In my last blog, I shared tips on how to choose a good waterproofing contractor. As I mentioned, if you don’t hire a company with expertise, you’ll be calling back again when heavy rain comes, and unless you have a lot of time on your hands, my guess is that’s not what you want to do. The good news is, there are ways to prevent repeat flooding. In this edition of my blog, I’m going to share with you one innovation that, once installed, prevents further basement leakage permanently.

I’m talking about Ameri-Drain ®, a patented system that demonstrates significant superiority to standard PVC pipe, which is still used by many waterproofing companies. Here are two important comparisons:

1. Standard PVC pipe allows for just 1,000 gallons/foot of water flow per hour, while Ameri-Drain ® allows for 2,570 gallons/foot. That is a capacity increase of 157%!

2. The strength of standard PVC pipe is 163,000 psi. Ameri-Drain’s ® strength is measured at 536,900 psi. In other words, Ameri-Drain ® is 325% stronger than standard pipe.

Unfortunately, many waterproofing companies still swear by the French drain system, which relies on PVC pipe or flexible perforated pipe. This is a cheap solution, but it’s also a temporary one. Not only can it undermine the footer because of the width and depth of the trench that has to be dug, but the use of an air hammer to dig the trench can vibrate your entire house, causing cracks. In addition, a number of companies use a product that relies on an open system that’s placed along the wall. And after all that, there is only a limited warranty on the French drain, which covers the cove area only. Like I said before, it’s a temporary solution.

On the flip side, here are a few important advantages of the Ameri-Drain ® system:

4-Install Ameri-DrainBy eliminating gravel, Ameri-Drain ® removes the chance of water flow from the wall and footer areas, which dramatically improves drainage.

Ameri-Drain has a strong insulating power that dries the floor uniformly.

Very importantly, Ameri-Drain ® has larger than average holes that ensure continuous drainage, maintain a self-flushing action, and prevent clogging.

The material used for Ameri-Drain ® is a heavy construction of a material called “Super Poly,” which is exponentially stronger than other systems.

Finally, Ameri-Drain ® is a patented system that is backed by a full, lifetime warranty. (You can read more about our solid warranty program here.)

The choice is yours, of course, but before making it, I strongly urge you to carefully review and compare the options. It will save you time and money in the future.

Barry Antonelli, the Founder and President of Ameri-Dry ® Systems, is a waterproofing expert who has dedicated three decades of his life to solving all types of basement, crawlspace, and foundation water problems. He began his career in 1978, a time when aggressive companies and pushy salesmen were the norm, but quickly changed the face of the industry by instituting programs to empower the customer, including the industry’s first Customer Relations Division; an independent Customer Service Department; and the industry’s first Lifetime Warranty Program. By the mid-1990s, Antonelli’s company was waterproofing over 1,000 homes and structures every year, while still offering a Full Life-of-the-Structure Warranty. His commitment to customer service and to developing innovative techniques for solving wet basement, wet crawlspace, and foundation problems continues.
