This year has been a whirlwind for the Baltimore/Washington metro area — literally. Recently, the area experienced both an earthquake and a hurricane, which resulted in some disastrous effects, including significant property damage. In fact, homeowners have taken the brunt of this very uncharacteristic weather. The unexpected earthquake left many homes with major foundation cracks, and this weather event, unfortunately, was followed by vast amounts of rain from a hurricane that impacted the entire East Coast. The heavy rains led to serious basement flooding and damage. Thankfully, the expert staff at Ameri-Dry was able to offer assistance and bring relief to very frazzled and concerned homeowners.
Directly after the intense weather occurred, Ameri-Dry’s Maryland offices were overwhelmed with calls. As a result of the great need, Ameri-Dry’s service area in state expanded to cover Charles County, to Cecil County, to Cumberland, and our service technicians inspected a wide variety of homes, from those that were newly constructed to those that had been standing for over a century. The demand was so great, in fact, that we had to call in our Knoxville, TN team to appropriately handle all of the service calls.
The majority of the water damage occurred as a result of foundation problems. In some cases, the damage was so severe that we had to install additional sump pumps to manage the excessive rainfall, which had overtaken numerous basements. Many of the homes we were called to had received service from another basement waterproofing company, and we were required to correct the work that had been done. It was an intense process, but we were able to rectify the problems that had been left behind and assure each customer that our work was backed up by a lifetime guarantee.
In addition to successfully addressing multiple cases of basement water damage, Ameri-Dry helped many homeowners by installing battery backup systems. These systems were in extremely high demand, but the demand overtook the supply, and 11 states completely sold out of the systems. Other companies, in fact, were unable to obtain the system, but Ameri-Dry was not willing to take no for an answer. It did require us to go all the way to Denver, CO to make it happen, but we were able to accommodate customer needs. That’s the Ameri-Dry way.
